Zoltek FY Q2 Misses

Zoltek (ZOLT), which makes carbon fibers used to manufacture wind turbines, reported revenue for its fiscal second quarter ended March 31 of $26 million, down from $36 million a year ago, and below the Street at $28.8 million. The company lost 14 cents a share in the quarter, worse than the Street consensus at a loss of 6 cents.

The company said that “like many other businesses,” it expected a slow start and strong finish in 2010, and “that is exactly how it appears to be working out.”

In late trading, ZOLT is down a penny at $9.19.
